The Floor is Always Cold
It's 4:11am. The floor is the same temperature it was the day I lost the business. Same cold. Same dark. Different bloke standing on it. That's the only variable you actually get to control.
GET UP. NOBODY IS COMING. THE GOOD NEWS IS YOU DON'T NEED THEM.

I have spent more weeks researching a decision than it would have taken to make it, watch it fail, and recover. Research is the new procrastination dressed up in a business shirt.

Forty minutes. Sunrise. No podcast. No music. Just the sound of my own thinking finally getting bored enough to tell me the truth.

If you wouldn't invite this version of yourself over for Christmas, fix it. That's the entire personal development industry in one sentence.

This whole app is a note to the bloke on the floor in 2021. He didn't need a guru. He needed a checklist and someone who'd already been there saying: get up, the floor is cold, that's the point.
// more entries appear when toby walks, which is daily.
// the diaries · why
I started the diaries because I needed proof that the floor was a place you could leave. Not a quote on Instagram. A timestamp. A note from a guy who'd been there yesterday and was still here today.
There's no algorithm here. No optimal posting time. Toby walks, talks into the phone, and the note goes up. If it helps you, take it. If it doesn't, the next one might. The point is the consistency, not the polish.
The walk replaces the therapist. The note replaces the lie.
